Of the highest rarity, either unique or the second known example. Faint scratches and the obverse struck off center, otherwise, nearly fine.


The only reference to this type comes from Cohen, who described a similar coin in the possession of M. Delgado. Unfortunately, no image of said coin exists and it is thus impossible to tell whether it is identical to ours. In any case, the coin is certainly of Spanish origin; it was struck in good silver, and its fine portrait shows some stylistic similarities to the Divus Augustus aurei (see lot 1056 below).
